Efficient

The Heavy Duty Big Green Egg® is made with space-age heat holding ceramics. The ceramic walls are heavy and thick. This insulating quality cooks foods with an amazingly small consumption of charcoal and no need to add more coals while cooking. A 20 LB bag of natural charcoal will usually provide four months use, even if you cook out several times per week. Natural lump charcoal, unlike briquet, burns very clean with very little ash. When you are finished cooking, just close the lid and the top and the bottom drafts to smother the fire. Next time reuse the unburned charcoal – never dump it. High temperature grilling – even at 700˚F – is quick and easy! Your steaks will be no worse than the ones prepared in the best restaurants and vegetables will become crispy with richer flavor. How about tuna? When grilled at 300˚F its meat turns pretty dry but sear it at 650˚F - 700˚F and you won’t believe the difference; done just enough on the outside with the tender and mouth watering “interior”. Smoking is done at lower temperatures—usually between 150° and 250°. The ceramic construction of The Big Green Egg® makes it a superior smoker. Precisely controlled smoking temperatures give succulent results with turkey, ham, lamb, chicken, ribs and all other barbequed meat. Imagine turkey breast done to such perfection that when cut juice is pouring out of it in “streams”.
